Hello.

(1) Computers: MacBook 3,1 (2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM) & iMac G5  (1.8Ghz, 1 GB RAM)
(2) OS: Both boxes run Leopard 10.5.8
(3) Application versions: Quicktime 7.6

OrganizerX (non-free version) appears to be the ideal app perfectly customized for my needs. I have found great use for it while testing the Lite version.

I have thoroughly reviewed the FAQ and see no mention of data export functionality to one of the common, industry standard formats, such as XML, should the need arise I require my data be available outside of OrganizerX.

I humbly ask, can someone kindly either reveals details associated with a data export function, if there is such functionality, or confirm that in fact such functionality does not exist.?

If such functionality does not exist at this time, do you have a business succession plan in place, and what it is, to protect your customers, ensuring they have control over their data if some unforeseen or unpredictable event occurs, through no fault or control of your own, potentially incapacitating your company so that you are forced into a position of having to cease development of OrganizerX? This may be an uncomfortable topic; however, my primary concern is having a way to maintain control over my data and export it if the need arises.

Such functionality is imperative in an application that safeguards, protects, and/or encrypts crucial information such as email passwords and credit card account numbers and transaction history in a proprietary format. Without it, the user does not have true, full control over the data stored in the application.

Respectfully yours,
Tom Burns

Mr. Burns,

That's a very question, which also turns out to be a good suggestion for improvement.  Giving you a straight answer, OrganizeX has no export function for now.

OrganizeX has no export function because we never thought about the need.  Actually, we thought about installing in A-Cownts (OrganizeX's predecessor) a function for exporting data in Excel format.  There were several major questions for A-Cownts.  One was how a new application (OrganizeX) could read A-Cownts' data.  Again, we were thinking about exporting data in Excel format or ODBC.  But it was simply the matter of letting a new application read A-Cownts' data directly.  That's where the export thing stopped with A-Cownts.  Then a new application took its direction for having more features beyond MyAccount.  And we were still thinking about installing in OrganizeX more features like databases for DVD and password storage specifically for software developers.

It's been nearly one month since we introduced OrganizeX.  And we intend to updating it.  In the meantime, you are absolutely right about something that may happen to the application or the software developer.  A few people don't always come up with all needs for an application.  So we are certainly open for suggestions.

Anyway, we will positively think about how OrganizeX's data can be exported.  Honestly, we have nobody that is familiar with XML.  I know what it is, but I don't know if XML is suitable for this purpose.  Hopefully, we can come up with something by the end of the year.

Thank you for your good suggestion.

OrganizeX users can now export MyAccounts data to an Excel sheet.
